THE BEGINNING
WE ARE ON A MISSION TO FINISH WHAT WAS STARTED
Finish the Work began in 2007 following a construction mission trip to Barbados. A small group of guys recognized a larger need for volunteer teams committed specifically to completing unfinished construction projects and founded Finish the Work.
Around the world, churches and community organizations begin construction projects with great hope, only to have the work slow or stop when funding, materials or skilled labor become limited.

Finish the Work was created to help bridge that gap.
What is Finish the Work?
Finish the Work is a Christian nonprofit organization that helps complete unfinished construction projects for churches and communities in need. We bring together volunteers, resources and local leadership to help finish projects that have already been started.
When was Finish the Work founded?
Finish the Work began in 2004, and in 2006 was the first construction mission trip to Barbados. A small group of guys recognized a larger need for volunteer teams committed specifically to completing unfinished construction projects and founded Finish the Work.
What types of projects does Finish the Work complete?
Finish the Work focuses on construction projects that are already underway and can reasonably be completed or significantly advanced by our volunteer teams. Projects may include churches, community facilities and other spaces that support local ministries and communities.
What kind of work do volunteers do?
The work depends on the needs and stage of each project. Volunteers may assist with painting, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, tile work, general construction, cleanup, and other tasks.
How does Finish the Work choose its projects?
Finish the Work looks for construction projects that are in some phase of construction and are within a reasonable scope for our teams to help complete. We work closely with local pastors, organizations and community leaders to understand the need and determine whether a project is a good fit for our mission.
Does Finish the Work work with local contractors and community members?
Yes. Working alongside local leadership is an important part of the Finish the Work model. Whenever possible, materials are sourced locally and local laborers work alongside our volunteers. This helps support the local community while ensuring local leaders have the knowledge needed to maintain the completed project.
Can my company partner with Finish the Work?
Yes! Businesses can support Finish the Work through financial gifts, sponsorships, donated materials or services, professional expertise and volunteer participation. Companies interested in becoming a partner can contact Finish the Work to discuss current opportunities.
Where does my FTW donation go?
Donations help support the resources required to complete Finish the Work projects, which may include construction materials, tools, project expenses and other mission-related needs.
Are donations to Finish the Work tax deductible?
Yes, Finish the Work is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible, and statements are issued annually to anyone who donates.
